Renault revamps Espace for 2011 (UK)

Renault has released its revised Espace large MPV, incorporating a number of minor changes.

Externally, the reworked Espace gains LED day-time running lights, and gloss black exterior trim. A new body-colour, Pearl Blue is also offered optionally.

Under the bonnet, the 2.0 dCi diesel engine is available in two tunes; 150bhp and 175bhp, with the latter linked to a 6 speed automatic transmission, and now offers low CO2 emissions and better fuel economy. The 150bhp has had its emissions reduced by 18g to 170g/km and fuel economy bettered to 43.5mpg combined. The 175bhp variant emits 189g/km and returns 39.2mpg. All engines are now Euro5 complaint.

On the options list are adaptive bi-xenon headlights at £650, opening tail-gate window for £320, electric panoramic glass sunroof at £1,300 and duo 16.9” rear-seat DVD system for £1,500. A Initiale Lux Pack is obtainable on the range-topping Grand Espace Dynamique 2.0 dCi 175 Auto FAP for £3,500 and contains multi-functional TunePoint, Carminat TomTom w/Western Europe mapping, metallic paint, front parking sensors and full leather upholstery.

2006 Renault Grand Espace
Prices for both the Espace and Grand Espace start from £24,495, rising to £28,495, offering savings of up to £3,005 compared with the former range. The cost to upgrade from Espace to Grand Espace is £1,500.

Order books are from 8th November, before arriving in showrooms in January 2011.
